I personally think casting directors on reality shows have their work cut out for them and they sure deliver. This was proved even further on last night's episodes of Trading Spouses: Meet Your New Mommy and I Want To Be A Hilton. Particularly, on the Hilton show where they have assembled the most eclectic group of folks I have seen on a reality show since the first season of Survivor.
You have Ann, an Asian beauty who is a former Miss Tampa and will sing like she is channeling Celine Dion at inappropriate times especially when someone is talking or when she sees Kathy Hilton within earshot. When she started singing Wind Beneath My Wings in the middle of Yvette's babble at the elimination meeting, both B and I laughed so hard that we had stomach pains. Here is Yvette talking to Ms Hilton and trying to save herself and Ann just cuts in with her rendition of Bette Midler's song. Wow. Ann always had a flair for the dramatic with her pageant smile and big hats. She will be missed.
Now Yvette, the other contestant eliminated in last night's episode will NOT be missed by me. Damn, it was 3 weeks too late...she should have been eliminated in week one. Her constant lying, short skirts, and "it's all about me" attitude drove me and Latricia nuts. Speaking of Latricia...love her. Yes, she is a little rough around the edges and not exactly the expert on etiquette but the girl is brutally honest and endearing. You want to root for her because you know that winning this show could dramatically change her life. Now, let's hope the other team starts losing so we can trim the "fat" there as well. There are a few people I'd eliminate just for being too bossy. Why is it people come on this show and immediately want to take over and be the leader? Haven't they learned yet that being a leader or being bossy puts a target on your back? Don't these people watch reality TV before going on a show? It never ceases to amaze me.

Big Brother is BACK! And other ramblings...
CBS announced the new cast of Big Brother 6. The oldest contestant is 36. Whatever. Most of of the chicks look like Barbie dolls. Looks to me like they cast a bunch of actor/actress wannabees. And what is up with them casting firemen named Eric? I don't think this season is going to be anything to get excited about. I'm more excited about Survivor reruns on the Outdoor Life Channel this month!!!
Yes, it's true. The OLN network will begin airing Survivor reruns on July 24, after Lance Armstrong’s final ride in the 2005 Tour de France. God, Season 1 was the best. I can't wait.
If you have Direct TV, OLN is channel 608.
I also read that the Fox Reality Channel picked up Paradise Hotel and will air reruns. Now for some odd reason, I got hooked on that show. I say odd because I usually don't do the dating/hooking up shows. I'd rather eat a bull's testicle than watch The Bachelor or Average Joe. Love and reality TV don't mix in my world. But PH was different. And it aired like 3 times a week for like 5 months. It was very involved. I wonder what happened to Dave and Charla. But I digress...
Back to Big Brother 6...supposedly they are doing another twist this year with their theme this year being "Summer of Secrets". I guess the producers didn't learn their lesson with that horrible twin twist they did last year. *yawn* This year's twist is that the 14 contestants will actually be 7 teams of 2 and each team will think they are the only team in the game. The 14 contestants will live in the house together and contact their team partner, I am assuming, in the diary room (DR to you reality TV watching veterans). As an added stipulation, if one team can keep their secret and end up being the last two people in the house, the winner will win $1,000,000 with the second place finisher winning $250,000. If a team does not make it to the final two, the winner will win $500,000.
I'm going to tune in but there is no guarantees I will keep watching.
Shoot, who am I kidding? I'm a reality TV fanatic, for Christ's sake! ;)

It was good while it lasted *sigh*
Well, last night was the season finale of Hit Me Baby One More Time. *sigh* It was soooo good. PM Dawn won but I have to say, Shannon and Animotion were great. After hearing Shannon sing "Let The Music Play", I wanted to go out to a club and get my dance on. Gosh, I feel so old.
I hope they bring this show back in the fall. But I pray they change the host. He is just weird. His hair looks as if he sleeps with a hat on and his hands look abnormally long. It's rather distracting.
I checked the website for the London version of this show and they had Shalamar on!!! For those of you who don't know who Shalamar is, they were this R & B/Dance group in the late 70's and 80's which consisted of Howard Hewitt (who is married to Nia Peeples from the TV show version of Fame), Jeffrey Daniels and Jody Watley. Yes, this was Jody's gig prior to going solo. Well, they reunited a few years back and replaced Jody with another female singer. They are one of my fave groups from back in the day. If this show returns for a second season, I am praying they have Shalamar on.
God, I wish I lived in Europe....their reality shows are so much better than ours.

War of the Worlds vs. The Cut
Well, my honey (B, I will call him) and I got to the theater last night to see War of the Worlds and it was sold out! He was tired. I was tired. After looking at the insanely long line for the next showing of War of the Worlds and seeing that our only other feasible movie options were either Mr and Mrs. Smith or Madagascar, we decided to go uptown, eat at Dallas BBQ's on 72nd and Central Park West and then head home. Yes, I was secretly happy because all I could think of was...YAY, I will be home in time to see The Cut.
We got home around 8:20 so I missed the beginning but with reality TV, the good stuff happens in the last 30 minutes usually so I was cool. On The Cut, the task for the 2 teams this week was to create 3 dresses that will be featured in a mock fashion show to which Tommy Hilfiger will judge on which one is the best. One team had a black number that was pretty but I thought was a little boring for runway. But the other team's dress was a pink mess with a horrid looking stole over the shoulder. Ewwww. It was Princess' design but Miss Tommy aka Costume Designer decided that since he knew how to sew and was, in his opinion, the most talented on his team, he took her design and changed it to what HE thought was best. He was such a tyrant. His elimination was so predictable. What was NOT predictable was how Hilfiger zeroed in on Jessica and her lack of involvement in the creative aspect (her sole responsibility was finding the model). I'm glad she spoke up for herself but she should be thanking Shauna for speaking up for her at the Style Forum. Shauna saved your ass, sweetie!!!
And Hilfiger finally ended the show with a cheesy saying that can only sound cool on a reality show:
As they say, cream rises to the top, and this week, I see some cream.
LOL!!!! I am still laughing over that one. Well, the man is trying. I give him props for that. But he still ain't The Donald.
